Poems

The clouds of the tempest parted
For an instant
And I glimpsed the bright light beyond
I bathed in it
The rays invigorated me
I was renewed
But then the storm wrenched it away
Plunging me back
Into
Dark
And yet
That brief brilliance...
It was enough for me to know
I'm advancing
I'm pushing back against the storm
The onslaught wanes
I know the storm is eternal
It will always
Be there
My companion
Regardless of what I might wish
But the same truth
Applies
To radiance
Beyond the endless wind and rain
An endless warmth
Waiting for me to beat the storm
To force it back
So light won't be the exception
And until then
I've got this fancy umbrella
